Since many of us in the northern hemisphere are dealing with wintry weather (I sure hope the groundhog is right about an early spring!), I thought you might enjoy seeing a snowball fight…from the late 19th century.
It seems that some things are timeless. Love the guy on the bicycle.

In my new book Fortune’s Fool, I write about a snowball fight John Wilkes Booth had with a group of boys in Cameron, Missouri, in the 63-64 winter while he was at a lay-over (train delayed/snow drifts) in that village. The boys blasted “Mr. Boots” but he took it all in good form and gave back as well as he could. There is an illustration of the scene in a St. Louis newspaper, circa 1903, with Booth getting his top-hat knocked off!

Well, if I had enough snow I’d have a snowball fight. I love me some good winter fun. Sledding and tubing are always fun. What I enjoy most is watching my dog bound around in the white fluff. He’s such a dork.
