Hi, everyone! To celebrate the release of book 3 of the Concordia Wells Mysteries, Unseemly Ambition, I’ve been hosting a random giveaway that ended January 31st. Here’s a refresher:
The prizes:
Ebooks, paperbacks, candy tins, and audiobooks, along with the opportunity to collaborate with me on a name/physical trait for two characters in book #4, tentative titled Unseemly Haste. A total of twelve winners are selected.
Many thanks to those who entered!
A big “thank you” to all of the blog and newsletter subscribers, blog post commenters, book reviewers linking back in the comments, and readers submitting photos during the contest period of Oct 14, 2014 to Jan 31, 2015. It’s been so much fun to share this with you.
The selection process:
Each entry was assigned a unique number, and these numbers were entered into Random.org to generate the twelve winning entrants.
So, how did I decide which winner got which prize? At first, I thought it would be cute to have our new cat, Tora, be part of the selection process.
But it was quickly evident that I needed a plan B:
Tora, you’re supposed to be my kitty Muse! You’re falling down on the job. Sigh.
Plan B: Nerf gun and a white board.
Take a look:
Thanks to our youngest, for filming and editing the video. I never looked so good. And thanks to our son Liam, Nerf-gun-wielder-extraordinaire.
In case the video didn’t play, here’s the winner list. I’ll be contacting y’all by email. Congrats!
Has a Nerf gun ever helped you make a selection? I’d love to hear from you.
Until next time,
Kathy
P.S. – Didn’t win, but would like a signed bookmark? If you have a U.S. or Canadian mailing address, send it to: contact@kbowenmysteries.com and I’ll mail you one!
Kathy: bopping over to congratulate you and now I see that a thank you is in order. I’m watching the video now! You are adorable! (But I already knew that.) we’ll have to figure out some fun collaboration! Eventually.
Thanks for stopping by, Renee! And for the kind words. 😉 We’ll have fun!
Woooot! Soooo happy! Thanks!!
Yay! You’re very welcome, Margot!
LOL Love the background music during the sharp-shooting. And blue is your color, Kathy. Congrats on a great launch and contest!
That was all courtesy of my 14-yo son, Kass. Thanks!
Wow, I actually won something! And what a FUN way to do a drawing! I’m going to have to try something like that someday. (Although I don’t think my sons are quite the sharpshooter yours is – he’s quite good!) Thanks again, Jen
LOL, Jennifer, he was standing fairly close to the target. He makes it look good, though.
Oooh!!! This made my day, Kathy!! We got 14 inches of snow last night and we’re stuck in our house until the snow emergency is lifted. 🙁 Like we needed more snow days…ugh!! Anyhow, I’m thrilled!! Woo-hoo!!
At least it’s a great excuse to curl up with a book, right? Stay warm, Jill!
WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!!! Yay!!
Expert marksmanship by Liam and what a super fun way to “draw” winners. Two thumbs up for originality.
Thanks so much Kathy! I’m looking forward to getting my signed paperbacks.

Thanks, Patricia! We had a lot of fun doing it. I’ll be sending them off shortly!
Thanks, I am a winner. Yeaaaaaaaaa
I was also impressed with Your son ” Mr. Quick Draw”. I kept screaming during the Video ” shoot your Mom”, It would have been a fun way to introduce a new book. LOL
Hahaha, Bob! I didn’t realize until I watched the video that Liam was actually aiming the gun on one or two occasions while I was still in the line of fire…that’s why I don’t give them real bullets….
Loved the video! How much fun was that? Thanks!
Thanks, Julie! It was loads of fun…good thing there was no blooper reel, though….
What a sweet video! So fun and creative. And wow, I’m so excited about my prize! Thanks, Kathy!
You bet, August! Thanks for being so supportive. 🙂
